Crazy, Busy, Wonderful.

I realized today as I was walking home from work that I have not made myself a proper meal in over a week. That's how insanely busy I have been. I also haven't had the time to do laundry, so my laundry pile is piling up like you wouldn't believe.

I've been thinking about blogging all week, but haven't found the time...finally I have a few minutes to breath so I thought I'd take this time to share the highs and lows of my week (as my laundry is FINALLY being done :)).

Monday: I experienced my first dentist visit in Korea. It was slightly embarrassing, but ended up being very positive. I was SURE that I had a cavity, mostly because I have really sensitive teeth and ALWAYS have cavities and people in Korea add sugar to absolutely anything they can. So Kristin and I made our way to a dental hospital our supervisor recommended. It took a while, but finally a dentist had a look at my teeth and asked "What seems to be the problem", to which I replied, "well...I have a cavity". He said "No...you don't, you're fine!". So I paid my $11 for the X-rays and I was out of there. Quite happy that I don't have to get any fillings :). I celebrated by buying myself a Starbucks coffee.

Tuesday: Work Work Work Gym

Wednesday: Wednesday was Kristin's B-day! I told all my little kinders and they made a big card for her and when I asked "What day is it today" in the morning, I got a resounding "Krisin teachers birthday!". Kristin's plan for the afternoon was to hit up the gym, which I said was simply unexceptable, so the two of us went to Comma and spent the afternoon getting manicures. Quite a nice little afternoon! That night all us SLP gals decided to go to Bonbon's (my fav. Italian restaurant in Daejeon) for some

Thursday: Thursdays are my least favorite day of the week...by far. It's ALMOST Friday, but not quite and I'm just exhausted by the end of my 9 hr work day. After work Kristin and I met up with Kristin's Assistant teacher and two of her Korean Friends. It was kind of a "Blind-date" scenario, but ended up being a lot more friendly and it was nice to hang out with some Koreans and get a better perspective on Korean life.

Friday: The end of January/beginning of FEB is full of SLP birthdays, so we decided to have a big combo b-day party for Kristin, David and Paul. I designated myself as the sole member of the party planning committee (lame? probably). Everyone came over to my place (I love hosting) for a pot-luck type of dinner full of pizza, chicken, KD, mandu, beer and soju. After that was all headed to go BOWLING. If you know me...you know I HATE losing. But after losing one game I decided to not care (a difficult task for a sore-loser). It was actually a lot of fun. We headed downtown for some chatting, dart-playing and dancing. We capped off the night with a trip to McDonald's. A pretty stellar night.

Saturday: We got to sleep in (my favorite part of weekends), and then Kristin, Katlyn and I parted ways with Robs and headed down to Eunhangdong for some lunch and shopping. We ended up having lunch at a SUPER cute cafe called "The Mill" which served fair-trade coffee and ice cream as a sidedish! Amazing! We hit up the underground shopping area which is full of cheap clothing and cosmetics and then headed back to Mannyeon dong for a relaxing chill evening. I ended up staying up until 3AM chatting with Tina and Calla; a much needed dose of family catch up time.

Sunday: Coffee. More Coffee. Korean Lessons. Church. Olive Young. Paris Baguette. A pretty standard Sunday for me. But awesome. :)

There's a quite re-cap of my crazy week. This weekend I also had to do a bunch of parent teacher meetings, I also had to say goodbye to my favorite child, Jung Hyun, in G-class. I cried...no exaggeration. He is SO adorable and so fun, I'm going to miss his smile and enthusiasm in my class. The downside of my job, saying goodbye. Ugh.

In other news...KIMBERLY is coming to visit me! AH! I received an email this week from my high school besty saying she found a deal on a flight, and if I would like a visitor on the 17th of February. WHAT! I was SO excited. She booked her flight and now I have the awesome privilege of finding amazing things to do with her in Korea! Woo! Only 18 days...I love when countdowns are so short! What a great surprise :)
