Life is back on track after vacation, and I thought I'd give a little update in a few areas. :)
School:
School is going GREAT. I'm loving my Kindy classes, and starting to get really sad that I'll have to say goodbye to them at the end of February and start new classes. They really are the highlight of each day.
G class has been especially adorable lately. They've recently learned my last name, and can pronounce it better than most fluent English speakers can! And that's seriously not an exaggeration! Since they've perfected my name, they quite frequently call me "Anna Teeninga Teacher". Last week one of my little girls turned to me and said, "I know your Korean name". I said, "really? I didn't know I had a Korean name!", so she said "I gave it to you! You're name is Yu Na". It was so adorable that I agreed that that should be my new Korean name. So when the kids aren't practicing my last name, they'll quite often call me "Yu Na Teacher". I've started replying to any of the above.
F Class is still as crazy and hyper as always! Today I was really impressed by how smart some of them are! Rainbow bridge had a page about the senses. They had listed see, hear, touch, smell and eat. One of my kids raised his hand and said, "Anna Teacher! These are the senses, why does it say eat! It is taste!". I was impressed, and let him change the answer.
Almost every day I go back and forth about whether or not I'll stay longer than my year contract. There are a couple of variables, but I know in a couple months when I have to make a decision it's going to be tough. I really love my job, but I also miss seeing my friends and family back home. What's a girl to do...
Monthly plans and progress reports are due soon. My least favorite thing to do. But I only have 2 plans and 14 reports to do...not TOO bad.
Apartment:
My apartment really does feel like my home. I have pictures and posters and brochures from places I've visited up all around my apartment. I recently received a big comfy chair, an electric kettle, a table, and a few plants. It's got a real homey feel now to it. I also just bought some new comfy pillows for my chair and bed. Things I'm still wanting to get are a bedside lamp, and a storage unit for my bathroom. But it's coming along quite nicely :).
Church:
I`m really enjoying the church the Kristin, Jodi and I have been going to these past 6 months. We were away for a few weeks and it was just really nice to get back into the groove of everything. Yesterday Kristin and I started Korean lessons at church. I'll be honest...it was really hard! But I hope that it'll get easier the more I practice! :)
Life in General:
Life in general has been good! Lots of hanging out, dinners, etc. This past weekend I went to CheongJu to visit Robs and Katlyn. We went out for dinner at this awesome Indian restaurant (LOVE Lamb Saag...mmm), went to a movie (which was honestly top 5 worst movies I've ever seen..."Season of the Witch"), and went out for desert and coffee at "The New Yorker" afterwards. It was a really awesome evening/night! I love those girls and am so blessed to be just a 40 minute bus ride away from them!
Coming up:
We have a holiday coming up (a week earlier than I thought) and it looks like I'll be sticking around Korea...but I'm sure we'll find something fun and exciting to do! Kristin's birthday is also next week, so I'm sure more exciting things will happen then. In a month and a bit the new school year starts, I'm interested/nervous about what level/classes I'll be teaching.
I think that's about it for now friends. Think warm thoughts and eat lots of ranch dressing for me (one thing I haven't found here..)
Peace and Love.

Have you tried the Foreign Food Mart in Itaewon? I'm pretty sure I saw it there anyways. . .
thanks Kristin! I'll be sure to check there next time I'm in seoul! I haven't found it anywhere in Daejeon, not even Costco!
I enjoyed reading your post again. I didn't know you that you like Ranch dressing. I wonder what your Korean name means. I am seriously impressed that your kindys can say Teeninga perfectly, but then again someone once thought it sounded Japanese, not Korean but... (I hope that doesn't sound really stupidly north american)
Love you forever.
