Spring is DEFINITELY in full bloom here in Daejeon! This past weekend was proof of that. It was beautiful!
Friday's (as I'm sure I've mentioned before) are my long days. I'm at the school from 9:10 to 7:20. By the time I'm finished at school I'm pretty wiped. I'm also the ONLY teacher who works until 7:20 on Friday nights. I met up with everyone from school right after work and then we all headed to an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ place. Delish! We ended up staying up prettty late (or early...depending on how you look at it) dancing the night away!

On Saturday most of the girls from our school met up with most of the girls from Katlyn's school to go to a Cherry Blossom Festival! We had been planning on going to one for a while, but wanted to find one that wasn't a 4 hour bus ride away! I really enjoyed the alternative! We took a nice walk by the river to Chungnam University where the streets were lined with Cherry Blossoms and there was food and music and people galore! It was pretty low key, but a really nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon. We wandered through the streets, bought some tasty street food (Kabab's, my favorite!) and chatted along the way. On the way home, Cecelia and I devised a brilliant idea, BBQ on my porch! So after a brief tanning session in the glorious sunshine by the gapcheon, I headed home to clean (having people over is always such a great motivator), and Cecelia headed off to buy food...and a bbq.

A few hours later, about 16 people were scattered throughout my apartment and my balcony, which was FINALLY being used. As you can tell, I was excited that it was finally getting some use, I felt selfish and wasteful having it all to myself. The amount of food we had was incredible. We had hot dogs, chicken, sausages, salads, pizza, chips and salsa, lasagna, etc. I don't know about you all, but BBQ's really make me feel like it's the beginning of summer, which just makes me feel happy. We all hung out at my place all night, and my apartment the next day was proof. But well worth it.
In other news, this week I was informed of my last day/departure day! So I can officially say now that my last day at work will be July 8th, just one day after my 23rd B-day! And I will fly out on July 10th (and make it back the same day...oh the wonders of time-travel). Now I have so much to do until then!
Also, it is officially Easter here in Korea! I'm looking forward to the day! Brunch, Church, Picnic, and CHOCOLATE (after 40 days sans choco I'm pretty excited about it!)
Keep your eyes open for a few more posts coming in the next couple of days. Particularly one on getting a perm in Korea (eek!) and my fabulous Easter weekend :)
Peace and Love my friends. And Happy Easter.
He is Risen. He is risen indeed!
