I can not believe that in 52 days I will be finished my program and into the "real world". Sometimes it feels like this 8 month program will never end, but mostly it just feels like this school year has flow by.
This week I'm on reading break. I'll admit, it's slightly less excitement packed than previous breaks spent roadtripping to Florida, riding an Elephant through the jungles of Thailand, or exploring Korean Cities and islands. However, it is nice to relax, stay in my PJ's til 2pm, read, catch up with old friends, hang out with my family, and spend time with a special guy. (Not to mention having time to do time-wasting things I never have time to do such as give my blog a make-over). I also have a bit of time to prepare for my next placement!
I'm SUPER excited to be spending my next 6 weeks in a Montessori preschool classroom. I think it will be very different than my last placement, and I'm sure the time will just fly by.
And after my 52 days are over, new adventures begin. Moving home, Finding a job, and getting used to life NOT being a student. It'll be an adventure, that's for sure.
And so I'll leave you with one of my current musical addictions. Fun - Some Nights.

Sunday Song - Christmas Lights - Coldplay
Okay...I know it's Thursday and not Sunday..but I've been busy :)
Enjoy this Coldplay tune!
Enjoy this Coldplay tune!
Christmas night, another fight
Tears, we cried a flood
Got all kinds of poison in
Of poison in my blood
I took my feet to Oxford Street
Trying to right a wrong
Just walk away, those windows say
But I can't believe she's gone
When you're still waiting for the snow to fall
Doesn't really feel like Christmas at all
Up above, candles on air flicker
Oh, they flicker and they float
And I'm up here holdin' on
To all those chandeliers of hope
Like some drunken Elvis singin'
I go singin' out of tune
Sayin' how I always loved you, darlin'
And I always will
Oh, when you're still waiting for the snow to fall
It doesn't really feel like Christmas at all
Still waiting for the snow to fall
It doesn't really feel like Christmas at all
Those Christmas lights light up the street
Down where the sea and city meet
May all your troubles soon be gone
Oh, Christmas lights, keep shinin' on
Those Christmas lights light up the street
Maybe they'll bring her back to me
And then all my troubles will be gone
Oh, Christmas lights, keep shinin' on
Oh, Christmas lights, light up the street
Light up the fireworks in me
May all your troubles soon be gone
Those Christmas lights keep shinin' on

Sunday Song - Place - Lucy Rose
I had a difficult time picking a song this week! There are just so many I've been really enjoying these days :) I settled on a song by Lucy Rose. Her voice is so darn pretty!
I see so much now
How my head spins round
Tell me just what to do
Cause I'm lost inside it all
Cause I would like to get to know you
I would like to get to know you
To know you
Cause if there is a place for me, a place for you
This is what I've found
And if there is a place for me, a place for you
This is what I've found
Try to forget how
All these things came round
Tell me just what to do
Cause I'm lost inside it all
Cause I would like to get to know you
I would like to get to know you
To know you
Cause if there is a place for me, a place for you
This is what I've found
And if there is a place for me, a place for you
This is what I've found
So hold your head high
Think about a better time
[x7]
Hold your head high
Think about...
Cause if there is a place for me, a place for you
This is what I've found
And if there is a place for me, a place for you
This is what I've found
If there is a place for me, a place for you
If there is a place for me, a place for you
If there is a place for me, a place for you
If there is a place for me

Sunday Song - Willow Tree March - The Paper Kites
Loving this Band at the moment. I really enjoy music that actually makes me think about what they're singing.
WILLOW TREE MARCH
You fall through the trees
And you pray with your knees on the ground
For the things that you need
With your lust and your greed weighing down
And you're weak in your love
And you hold it above your head
Success is a song of the heart,
Not a song of your bed
And we all still die
Oh we all still die
What will you leave behind?
Oh we all still die
Marching away from the stream,
This tree it will die without leaves

Adventures in Oakville
For the past month and a half I have been living in Oakville. Some might not call that an adventure, but it's been new, it's been different, and it's been full of challenges. So to me, that in itself is part of what makes an adventure just that.
It might sound a little silly, but to me, in some ways moving to Oakville was possibly almost as scary as moving to Korea. When I went away to University I went with a friend. When I moved away to teach English, I went with several friends. When I decided to do the intensive ECE program at Sheridan, well, that was just me. But God has been good. I found a little basement apartment, I got offered a job part-time nannying, and I've even made a friend or two in my program. I think God also knew I needed some friends nearby, so instead of this program being way the heck out in the middle of nowhere it's kind of central to where a lot of my friends live.
I'm not going to say that every moment of the past month and half has been easy. That would be a lie. But I AM thankful for the little blessings God gives me every day. I'm also thankful for his continuing faithfulness in my life. And I'm thankful that he knows what he's doing, even if I don't always understand it.
Recently I've been going to Harvest Bible Chapel when I'm in Oakville. I've got to say that I'm really enjoying it. This week's sermon was on wisdom and was centered on Proverbs 2. I think my favourite point of the sermon was that when we seek after God's wisdom he also reveals his direction. Guess I needed to hear that this morning. We also closed off the service with the song posted below. It's a little long, but it's great. So have a listen if you've got some time. :)
I won't be overwhelmed.
Peace.

And this is why I love Florence....
Let’s talk about magic. Because music, at its best, is a kind of magic that lifts you up and takes you somewhere else. “I want my music to sound like throwing yourself out of a tree, or off a tall building, or as if you’re being sucked down into the ocean and you can’t breathe,” says Florence Welch. “It’s something overwhelming and all-encompassing that fills you up, and you’re either going to explode with it, or you’re just going to disappear.” - http://www.florenceandthemachine.net/

Can`t get enough....
I`m going to stray a little from my Korea focused blogs and just highlight a few of my favorite addictions at the moment!
1. The Grand Magnolias.
This band is seriously kick-ass. Yes...it took American Idol to introduce me to them, but I`m alright with that..because at least I know about them now. I`m the type of person who makes playlists for everything, I have one for getting ready, cleaning my apartment, the gym, cooking, work, etc. That being said, there are very few bands who can be in all my playlists. The Grand Magnolias are one of those good for everything bands. I bought their album a few weeks ago and haven`t stopped listening to it since. Fantastic.
Check them out! http://thegrandmagnolias.com/
2. Anything Coffee related: Okay, Okay, Okay. We all know I`ve been addicted to coffee for some time now. But lately it`s been outrageous. Anything remotely coffee related has priority in my life (sad, but true). I`m especially loving all the ridiculously cute coffee mugs you can find here in Korea. It makes brewing your own coffee at home, instead of buying it out, SO much more appealing.
3. Korean Mandu`s (Dumplings): Sad but true. They are my favorite korean lunch or snack. Dumplings filled with glass noodles and pork with soya sauce. You can just follow the street side stands with steam rising for a delicious treat. I have to lay easy on them though if I want to fit into my dress for Nicole`s wedding :) haha.
4. SHOES. I`ve become addicted. Finding shoes in Korea is SO difficult for those of us with bigger North-American sized feet. HOWEVER, ordering them wholesale from China...AMAZING. All us girls from school got together a few weeks ago for some wine, cheese, and online shoe shopping. Pretty awesome, and SO cheap. I`ll admit...I bought too many pairs. But they are beautiful. Check out this awesome website, especially if you live here in Korea and have big north-american feet like I do!! **Warning** -You have to buy over $100 worth of shoes!

5. SEOUL!!!: I don`t know how I could possibly express my feelings towards this city. I love it! The busy-ness, the people, the hustle and bustle! It`s totally wonderful. If I decide to come back to Korea after this year I think I want to live on the outskirts of Seoul. Although I think I would spend WAY too much money shopping if I did that! I whole-heartedly agree with their slogan - Seoul, the soul of Asia - LOVE IT!
And that`s all! Those are my 5 big addictions at the moment. I would have added chocolate to that list, but I gave it up for Lent. (YIKES! SO DIFFICULT!)
Peace and Love friends! :)
