My countdowns are quickly dwindling! I only have one left...Korea. 4 days.
I had every intention of writing one more preparation blog in Ontario..but alas, I was too busy packing and organizing and saying my goodbyes.
Monday I said a bunch of goodbyes. I keep telling myself it's not goodbyes...but it's still pretty sad that these people who are a huge part of my life won't be physically in it for a year. Thank goodness for Skype is all I have to say.
Yesterday I finished packing up my bags, and headed for Pearson International. I was a bundle of nerves. The thought of going to Vancouver was exciting, but facing that fact that I was leaving Ontario for over a year...scary. After I said some more goodbyes at the airport (and waved to my family about 50 times after I went through security) I got on my very long flight. I sort of looked at it as building up to the ridiculously long flight I'll have to endure on Sunday. It was great getting off the plane and heading to baggage pickup where Calla was crawling all around.
Seeing Tina, Calla and James is fun! Calla has grown and changed so much, she's a cutie! Today (my 22nd birthday), we spent the day visiting Granville Island (I got some super sweet luggage tags!) and swimming, and relaxing. Vancouver is beautiful, and so is the weather! Much better than the suffocating heat of Ontario right now, yuck.
I'm enjoying my last few days in Canada, but I'm also starting to get super nervous about traveling by myself. I'm sure it'll be fine, I just always over analyze everything when traveling (coming to Vancouver I must have made sure my passport was in my bag about 300 times).
My next blog will most likely be in Korea! Holy Crap! Thanks everyone for praying...it makes me feel a whole lot better to know I have a bunch of people on this side of the world keeping me in their prayers.
