9 month top 9

In honour of my NINE MONTH ANNIVERSARY, I've decided to create a little "Top 9" list. It was hard to pick just 9! Some of them are so close that they could easily be switched around, but here goes. My favorite moments in South Korea (and other parts or Asia)...

9. JUMP! and the Rockey Mountain Tavern. Jump was hilarious, and what can I say...I'm a sucker for a cheeseburger and watching hockey. I'm a true Canadian at heart. It was also just a great time to spend time with the girls. We had a blast.

8. Two Christmas dinners. This also includes Muju. A free bus, a condo, tobogganing, all my co-workers, and a whole lotta food. What more could I ask for? Then to top it off, the next day more friends, presents, a Christmas tree, and MORE FOOD. A pretty great way to spend the weekend before Christmas!

7. Halloween. SLP and otherwise, it was just a great weekend. More like a great, hilarious weekend. My kids were adorable in their Halloween costumes, and we got to play around instead of hardcore studying. Going out and dancing the night away at Kaist's Halloween party was also a lot of fun, and made of some of the best stories of the year.

6. Busan. Beaches, Cable Cars, Markets! My second full week in Korea and I'm thrown off to fend for myself! Well, me and Jodi and Kristin. We had no idea what we were doing most of the time, but we had a lot of fun! I'm a happy camper if I have a beach!

5. Peter's visit! Hiking Bomunsum! It's always nice to have visitors, and it was great to have Peter here for a short visit. I love showing people where I work, and getting the kids to try and say people's names. Hiking Bomunsum and going to the markets in Daejeon was also fun. Great way to spend our short time together.

4. Elephants, Full Moon's and Mummies: THAILAND. I've already written two whole blogs about Thailand, so this will be short. But at least once a week I have a small yearning to go back to Thailand. The people, the food, the beaches, everything, awesome. NOT enough time there.

3. Kim's visit, and the National War Memorial. Like I said before, I LOVE having visitors. It was great having Kim here. It was a whirlwind of a trip, but we did SO much. From doctor fish, to shopping, to war memorials, to traditional markets, to bus tours, to souvenier shopping. I think she got a pretty good taste of what life in Korea is like :)

2. My last month with my kindies. They were especially sweet and adorable my last month with them. If you ever need a pick-me-up, get 5 year olds to write you valentine's cards. Cute and hilarious. My last day with them was also a huge highlight. A morning in the park playing games, then watching Beauty and the Beast, then colouring dinosaurs and eating snacks. Fantastic. I still miss those kids!

1. Calla and Tina's week in Korea. Having my sister and Calla visit was amazing. Being able to spend time with them was just great, and I'm so thankful that they got to come. It was pretty early into my year here, and having that week to explore Daejeon was really helpful! I learned a lot more about the city I live in, and got to experience new things in the city that I hadn't experienced before. It's honestly a week I don't think I'll ever forget!
