A Christmas-y, Doctor Fish, Camera Catastrophe Weekend!

This weekend was great! Very chill and low key, but still a ton of fun!

Saturday Evening Katlyn and Trina came to visit us in Daejeon! We went out for pizza and then decided to make our way to the Christmas tree I mentioned in my last blog. After taking many photos by said tree we made our way back to Kristins apartment and met up with Jodi to have a Christmas movie night, complete with loads of delicious Christmas type snacks :). We ended up watching one of my favorites, "Love Actually". Of course, Katlyn fell asleep, but the rest of us really enjoyed ourselves!

This morning approximately one minute after I had woken up I got a phone call from Katlyn saying I should come to Kristin's because all our friends from home were on Skype. So I sauntered over, coffee in hand, and had a great little Skype date with a bunch of beautiful people back home. Worth waking up for :)

After showering and getting ready, the 5 of us headed downtown to go to "Trinity Cafe". This is a cute little cafe, with great drinks, a free coffee/bread bar, and (drum roll please)...DOCTOR FISH! Now, this is something I originally said I wouldn't try. But I was so curious, that I ended up doing it. Doctor fish are a breed of fish which feed on dead skin. At this particular Cafe they have a seperate area (away from the food) where there is a big tank full of these fish. You pay 2,000 Won and get to put you feet in for as long as you like (or as long as you can handle...) I will admit, at first it is an absolutely ridiculous feeling, but after a while you do sort of get used to it. If you can get past the fact that fish are enjoying your feet as their lunch. Jodi, Kristin and Trina had already been before, but it was mine and Katlyn's first time, so they decided to film our reactions. I'm not even sure what I'm saying in this video. I think I'm trying to say "I'm too ticklish" and "you can stop now!". Note our funky colored hair. This is thanks to our dear friends Danielle, Allyson and Ashley back in Canada. The goal is to wear these wigs in as many crazy places as we can. This was spot number one.

Shortly after this video was taken...I accidently swiped my camera into the fish tank. Not a happy moment. Jodi screamed, I gasped and lunged for my camera. There's still water in the screen...but I think it's going to be okay. I hope.

After church, we wandered into one of my favorite stores, The Gam, and Katlyn and I purchased matching Christmas sweaters. I also tried to buy a Toronto Maple Leafs sweatshirt in honor of their win today (finally), but the bank card people had other plans in mind and my card was rejected. A sad moment. We finished our day at "Play Burger" and I'm not sitting on my bed in my Christmas sweater feeling very cozy and happy.

Tomorrow is payday (hopefully!)...oh the joys of working at a Hagwon.

Peace and Love my friends.
